Supervision

Rm2_edited.jpg

I offer a collaborative space in which Supervisees feel both supported and challenged  whether in training, fully qualified, working towards accreditation or beyond.

My focus is on developing a therapist’s own style of practice, increasing confidence, competence and creativity. Together we ensure that you are working ethically and in the best interests of your clients.

I work within an Integrative Relational model bringing together a range of theories and practices including Psychodynamic and Humanistic/Transpersonal, Transactional Analysis, Attachment and Loss, Existentialism and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

I am a qualified Supervisor with a Diploma in Clinical Supervision for group and individual counsellors working with adults and young people, online and face to face.  I work with trainee and qualified counsellors in 1:1 and small group settings both in private practice and voluntary agency. I have experience in academic settings as an External Assessor for BA (Hons) Integrative-Relational Counselling (Middlesex University). As a Clinical Supervisor of trainee counsellors at Help Counselling I have experience of working within organisations. I offer online/telephone and face to face supervision on a fortnightly or monthly basis.

"As a supervisor, I experience Jo as very supportive, curious and helpful. We have developed a very comfortable and open working relationship which provides me with a safe space where I can openly explore my client work and gain deeper insight into my therapeutic relationships. Jo encourages autonomy, demonstrates counselling experience and offers sound ethical guidance. Working with Jo I have been able to attain supervision more suited to my work with adolescents and this has been invaluable for growing my confidence and competence with this client group."
